An enterprise app designed to optimize supply chain management for an FMCG manufacturer and its partener vendors.

SMK App simplifies the processes of restocking, product returns, order tracking, and handling business documentation, providing a comprehensive tool to boost operational efficiency.

Business context

Our client is a leading food FMCG manufacturer and distributor. They contacted us to develop a corporate application that would enhance the process of product restocking for their employees and optimize the whole operation.

Previously, company representatives had to personally visit each vendor regularly to update the sales data and prepare the shipment orders for the warehouse.

With the developed mobile and web app, vendors can manage restocking orders independently, decreasing the pressure placed on corporate personnel.

The app is fully integrated with the client’s Odoo CRM and accounting, with each order automatically triggering corresponding documentation and shipment planning updates.

Offline Capabilities: Enables uninterrupted app functionality without an internet connection, allowing vendors to continue operations in areas with unstable connectivity and keep the restocking process on schedule.

Documentation Management: Centralized access for vendors and trade agents to review and manage key paperwork, such as agreements and contracts, tailored to each retail location.

Call Center Support: A web-based interface for call center staff to manage and update shipments in real-time during phone consultations. Flutter allowed to reuse the mobile app’s logic for wider screens, enabling easy web version creation.

Conclusion

The initial goal was achieved – our client's vendors are now able to independently manage restocking, handle product returns, and access operational documents through the app.

Clients representatives' workload has been reduced, allowing them to focus on higher-value tasks. Additionally, the app accelerates the flow of inventory and sales data, improving decision-making and overall operational efficiency.

The next step is integrating a payment gateway within the app, creating a one-stop for complete shipment checkout.

Looking ahead, it is clear that the absence of iBilly in the MacOS and Windows App Stores leaves a noticeable void that we will fulfill thanks to Flutter’s multi-platform capabilities.
